Ingredient Spotlight
Floradapt proBio-65® Lactobacillus sakei Lactobacillus sakei is a lactic acid bacteria strain isolated from traditional Korean fermented vegetables, kimchi. A range of bacteria are involved in the kimchi fermentation process, with Lactobacillus being one of the major species. Of the various strains of this bacterium, Lactobacillus sakei proBio-65®, exhibited the most potent inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus growth in preliminary experiments. It also induced immunological and clinical improvements in both human and animal studies. Results from a double-blind, randomized clinical trial suggest that L. sakei proBio-65®-containing emollients provide improvements in skin barrier function as well as positive immunological effects against atopic dermatitis.
